According to Universal and DreamWorks Animation, Trolls 2 will be heading to theaters in 2020! "Can't Stop the Feeling" landed an Oscar nomination for best song, which Justin Timberlake performed as the opening number at this year's Oscars. As of the moment, only Kendrick and Timberlake are confirmed to reprise their part in the sequel.
This will be the follow-up to the 2016 hit that has made $339.5 million at the box office since its November bow. It was recently announced on Twitter that the musical, animated movie about multi-colored trolls starring Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick will be back for another adventure. He signed on earlier this month to direct Warner Bros' The Lego Movie sequel, and that pic has a February 8, 2019, release date. Aside from Kendrick and Timberlake, it also featured the voices of Zooey Deschanel (Bridget), Russell Brand (Creek), James Corden (Biggie), singer Gwen Stefani (DJ Suki), and John Cleese (King Gristle, Sr.) among others.
The first film was directed by Mitchell, who also did "Shrek: Forever After", and Walt Dohrn of "SpongeBob SquarePants".
