Former national security adviser Michael Flynn, who was sacked by President Donald Trump for misleading the administration about his contacts with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, is now revealed to have accepted $45,386 to speak at a celebration of Russia's propaganda television network in 2015.

Although Flynn ultimately admitted to discussing USA sanctions against Russian Federation with the ambassador, he'd previously told Vice President Mike Pence that the topic hadn't come up.

Documents released Thursday by Rep. Elijah Cummings, the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, include a November 13, 2015 email from a RT TV official indicating the broadcaster "would be covering the payment of General Flynn's fee from our London office".

But a letter Cummings wrote Pence Nov. 18, the day after Trump said he meant to name Flynn national security adviser, raised Flynn's Turkey work, casting doubt on those versions.

The cargo company had been suspended as a United Nations vendor following corruption scandal, and the cybersecurity company was trying to expand its business with the US government.

The oversight committee received the documents earlier this month from Flynn's speaker's bureau, Leading Authorities, after

The speaker's bureau took a cut of the payments, the documents show. Flynn was also paid $11,250 by the Russian charter cargo airline Volga-Dnepr Airlines, according to the documents. Documents disclosed by Flynn Intel Group show it was paid $530,000 by Inovo BV, a Dutch shell company whose owner is closely linked to the Turkish government. Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from any investigation into Russian election meddling after it was revealed that he offered misleading testimony about his contacts with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, and Flynn was sacked when it was revealed that the FBI had captured his conversations with Kislyak.

The report went on to say that the network "actively collaborated with WikiLeaks" as a means "to denounce the United States". The event occurred in Russian Federation, and his travel and accommodations were covered.

Word of Flynn's paid work on behalf of Russian entities adds to the mystery swirling around reports of Trump campaign officials' links to the Kremlin. Its founder, Eugene Kaspersky, denies that it has stocked the firm with those with close ties to Russian intelligence. Elijah Cummings (D-Md).
