Malaysia secures Interpol red alert for four N Koreans wanted for Jong-nam murder

It was astounding the U.S. government had provided over £1billion in aid to North Korea to no result, as Kim Jong-un continues to escalate the situation on the peninsula, Donald Trump's Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said.

"I again wish to confirm that the body was that of Jong-nam' is definitely Jong-nam's", he told reporters at the Parliament lobby today.

Two women - Vietnamese Doan Thi Huang and Indonesian Siti Aisyah - have been arrested and charged with the murder.

North Korea then barred nine Malaysians - three diplomats and their six family members - from leaving the country, prompting Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak to describe the action as "hostage" taking.

It had initially hoped the body would be claimed by Kim's kin.

North Korea has maintained denying its hand in the killing of half-brother.

Malaysia has responded to North Korea's ban by saying that North Koreans in the country will not be allowed to return home either.

A red notice, Interpol's closest thing to an global arrest warrant, alerts police in the organization's 190 member countries to share information on wanted suspects, with the goal of extraditing them to face charges.

Malaysian police have since identified seven other North Koreans wanted in connection with the killing.

Authorities from both countries have said the women believed they were participating in a prank TV show, but Malaysian authorities do not believe that's true.

Malaysia has not directly blamed North Korea for the assassination, but there is widespread suspicion Pyongyang was behind it.

The decision to hold Kim Jong Nam's body - and conduct an autopsy - angered the North Koreans.

Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman said over the weekend that negotiations with Pyongyang to secure the exit of Malaysians stuck in North Korea would take place in a matter of "days".

Mr Noor Rashid declined to elaborate on where and when discussions with Mr Kim Jong Nam's family took place.

It's not clear when the video was shot, but a South Korean National Intelligence Service spokesman verified the son's identity to CNN.
