The Sweet Reason Ed Sheeran Is Appearing in Season 7

While we eagerly await the seventh season of one of the most popular shows this July, we already have details on the last season.

"I'm looking forward to watching it, I think it'll be great, but I think it's better for them to get new blood in with new visions", Benioff added. Benioff and Weiss, who have been in charge of the show since it fist debuted in 2011, will write the final four episodes.

As per reports on various portals, season eight will debut in 2018, and will have only six episodes revealed the co-creators of the show - David Benioff and Dan Weiss.

"Zombie Stark sister", was one suggestion from Weiss, which was subsequently shut down by stars Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams, who served as moderators.

Past seasons, indeed, have seen appearances from the likes of Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol, Will Champion from Coldplay, Sigur Rós, and Mastodon; it now looks as if Ed Sheeran has joined those ranks.

British megastar Ed Sheeran will appear in Season 7 and at a South by Southwest panel on Sunday, the showrunners explained the very personal reason why.

"For years we were trying to get Ed Sheeran on the show to surprise Maisie and this year we finally did it", Benioff stated (via Entertainment Weekly).

She didn't reveal, though, what her character will be doing in season 7, but her statement somehow confirmed she'll be in season 8. "We want to win", Vulture reported.
