Bethesda announced today a demo for Prey will be made available on Thursday, April 27 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users. It's just a couple of weeks before the game's May 5th launch, and should give undecided gamers a better look and feel for the game before the release day. The demo will be available only on console platforms.
Prey takes place aboard the Talos I space station after a species of terrifying aliens called Typhon have broken loose from their confines. Despite using the same name as the 2006 original Prey, it serves as a re-imaging of that game that will be very different.
As far as the Prey demo's contents are concerned, the trial will offer players a glimpse of what life is like for Morgan Yu, lead scientist aboard the Talos I space station, with the protagonist encountering the hugely unsafe problem of aliens escaping containment and threatening to destroy practically everything in sight. "But it all begins with what should have been a typical first day on the job for Morgan".
The demo provides access to the first hour of the game. Bethesda and developers Arkane Studios have not let up with new trailers for their soon to launch reboot of Prey, detailing the game's alien enemies (also known as Typhon), the many weapons you'll be able to yield as the androgynous Morgan Yu and the various settings you'll explore on the Talos I. Not convinced? It is up to you now to unravel the mysteries of The Talos, fight the alien invasion and save mankind.
Playing the demo could do wonders for anyone skeptical about the game because if they end up liking it, they can proceed to pre-order it to get the bonuses listed above.
