Donald Trump ordered Syria strikes while eating 'the most lovely cake'

Trump ordered the strike in response to a deadly chemical attack by the Syrian regime in the rebel-held town of Khan Sheikhoun last Tuesday.

"And we had the most handsome piece of chocolate cake that you've ever seen and President Xi was enjoying it", Trump said, before telling interviewer Maria Bartiromo he was told the strike was ready to go.

President Trump said Chinese president Xi Jinping was eating "the most attractive piece of chocolate cake that you've ever seen" when he was informed the United States launched an airstrike against Syria - and Twitter quickly reacted, mocking POTUS.

Trump then misspoke, saying that he bombed Iraq before Bartiromo corrected him with a reminder that it was Syria.

In the interview, which ran in short segments peppered throughout Bartiromo's early morning show, Trump didn't pull any punches, saying, "Putin is backing a person that's truly an evil person and I think it's very bad for Russian Federation".

Now a photograph has been posted on Instagram of the cake the pair were eating at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida when the President made a decision to break the news. We are now having dessert.

Trump said, "I like Steve, but you have to remember he was not involved in my campaign until very late".

TRUMP:It's so incredible. It's brilliant.

The real estate mogul was hosting Chinese President Xi Jinping at his club in Florida at the time.

"I said, 'Mr President, let me explain something to you.' This was during dessert".

"'We have just fired 59 missiles, all of which hit by the way, unbelievable, from hundreds of miles away'". We've all been forgetful one time or another, even if not about where we launched 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles just a few days ago.

"Yes, heading toward Syria", Trump said.
