Buffalo Bills offensive tackle Cyrus Kouandjio has been taken to the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo after a unusual incident with police on Thursday morning.

Bills' players expressed their concern for their teammate at practice on Thursday.

Not far from the scene of an automobile accident in Elma, N.Y., police encountered Kouandjio partially clothed in a field.

"We are aware of the matter involving Cyrus and are carefully monitoring his condition and gathering more information".

According to the news site, police did not know Kouandjio was a professional athlete until discovering his abandoned vehicle, conducting a search and spotting Bills gear inside. When a sheriff went to detain him, the offensive tackle yelled "Shoot me!". A check of the license showed the vehicle was registered to Kouandjio.

Cyrus Kouandjio has an understandable excuse for why he is now missing organized team activities with his Buffalo Bills teammates, he's now receiving medical attention at a local hospital. "We don't have all of the details, so we won't have any further comment at this time".

So what exactly happened here?

Per the News report, Kouandjio was taken to an area hospital for observation.
