The Bucks fleeced the Raptors out of Game 1 in Toronto and take a tied series back home to Milwaukee for Games 3 and 4. Not only did they steal game one in Toronto, but they did it in dominating fashion as they outscored the Raptors 51-32 in the second half to win 97-83. They haven't won a series in the playoffs since 2001. The Raptors did much better job of moving the ball and spacing the floor, obviously better prepared for what the Bucks have been trying to do.
Milwaukee wants to force Kyle Lowry and DeRozan into making bad decisions. "It's something we have to be better with". Serge Ibaka was the only other Raptor in double figures with 19 points on 8-14 shooting while fellow All-Star Kyle Lowry fell back into his playoff hole with just four points on an abysmal 2-11 shooting.
After taking the first punch, the Raptors responded in the best way they could with a 106-100 win on Tuesday night.
Despite all the positives, the game was close most of the way. Regardless of the outcome in Game 2, the Bucks are ahead of expectations in their return to the postseason. You talk about execution, that's what the playoffs are about: playing after the execution is not there.
Date/Time: Thursday April 20th, 2017. For us, we had an opportunity in Game 2.
"He did a great job with that team, growing that team, developing that team", Casey said Wednesday of Stackhouse, who has been a regular visitor on the Raptors bench when scheduling has allowed it. They play really hard the whole entire game. It doesn't change for this young team. He finished with six assists and two rebounds. Monroe was the main cog for the second unit, scoring 18 points on very efficient 6-of-9 shooting and 6-of-6 from the line.
Hearing that from one of his defensive stalwarts must be music to Casey's ears because he knows what a Jason Kidd-coached team is like.
DeRozan posted 23 points and Lowry added 22 in Monday's win. It was Brogdon who failed to deliver, getting outplayed by Lowry and Kidd kept him in for too long. So, for most, they were. The biggest Kidd's blunt was rolling with Teletovic as the big man to start the fourth quarter.
Toronto will again need to find a way to contain Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo. It is a high-risk, high-reward style that can spark their transition offence should they cause a turnover or a forced shot. As the series shifts over to Wisconsin, Raptors away ATS record of 24-17 brings even more confidence in their moneymaking ability.
The Spurs are coming off a 96-82 victory in Game 2 on Monday, covering as 10.5-point home favorites.
Milwaukee covered both times in Canada, improving to 38-46 against the spread and 19-24 on the road.
The Bucks understand that they are in a unique position. Overall, the Bucks are 42-40 against the over/under. "We don't feel like we played a great game". Over the last 10 games, the Bucks average 95.4 points and give up 99.0 per game. They don't stop playing. Go with the overs.
