AT&T appears to have a thing for rugged smartphones.
LG has just announced the X venture - its second X line smartphone for 2017.
This phone is water and dust resistance with IP68 certification and has passed 14 different MIL-STD 810G tests designed for the USA military as claimed by LG.
The LG X Venture boasts a water- and dust-resistant body, and LG says it passed 14 durability tests designed for the United States military.
Since it's a rugged handset that's meant to be usable out in the field as well, the LG X venture has a "glove mode" which enables users wearing gloves of up to 2mm in thickness to use the touchscreen display without having to take off their gloves. There are 32GB of on-board storage, expandable through a microSD card slot. A heavy-duty, high-capacity 4,100mAh embedded battery lasts for up to 24 hours between charges and with Quick Charge 2.0, the LG X venture charges from empty to 50 percent in only 48 minutes. The physical buttons on the front are gone, which might leave people in certain work environments to give the X Venture a closer look - if they can deal with the far less powerful hardware. It includes a barometer, compass, step-tracker, weather info, and a handy flashlight. The X venture has also been MIL-STD 810G tested for resistance to things like shock and extreme temperatures. The phone offers a robust but stylish design with a metal frame and a non-slip back cover and will be available in black and/or brown. The smartphone will be hitting other markets across Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East in the coming weeks.
