Though our initial learning was that HMD Global was to release Nokia 8 and Nokia 9, two higher-end Android smartphones, a recent report suggests that only one higher-end smartphone Nokia 8 is lined up for a release soon, probably the end of July. Now it appears the Finnish company has finally chose to launch its first high-end phone, and it will be marketed as the Nokia 8.
The other high-end smartphone that HMD could be preparing to launch is seen to be the Nokia 8.
A Nokia spokesperson said, "We are humbled by the response to Nokia 3.Currently, we are ramping up our production for Nokia 3 on priority to meet the existing consumer demand". Not too long ago, there were several leaks about Nokia working on two different flagship devices: the Nokia 8 and Nokia 9. The device is expected to be powered by a 2.45GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. It comes with an internal storage of 32 GB and also features a microSD card slot. Thus, the size of the apparatus will be comparable to Samsung S8, the screen which has a diagonal of 5.2 inches and a very thin frame at the top and bottom.
The phone is likely to be launched in four colour options, blue, steel, gold/blue and gold/copper.
As far as Nokia 9 is concerned, It is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm's latest flagship processor, the Snapdragon 835 and it will be the first Nokia device to feature "Nokia OZO Audio" enhancements. The smartphone developed by HMD Global with the model number TA- 1004 has bee spotted previously in Geekbench leaks. However, a new report from Germany, according to India Today, hints at Nokia 8 being launched on July 31.
Nokia 8 is set to be officially announced by the company in Europe later this month. In other countries, however, the price will be slightly lower. It has a dual-camera setup with 13 megapixels each. On the software front, the Nokia 8 will run on Google's Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box.
HMD Global will start selling the Nokia 6 on August 23.
