Big return helps Bears hold off Cardinals

The Bears are now standing at 0-1 this preseason, while the Cardinals are on 1-1.

Chicago Bears vs Arizona Cardinals (live stream online details here) of 2017 NFL Preseason Week 2 begins at 10:00 PM EDT at University of Phoenix Stadium with live coverage on NFL Network and Game Pass.

Neither team was able to do very much offensively, as they only combined for 559 - 267 by the Bears and 292 by the Cardinals.

Gabbert to Ross = TD!

Deonte Thompson's 109-yard touchdown return on a missed field goal in a Bears-Cardinals preseason game isn't going to register the same amount of importance, but it was still plenty fun and will make more than one highlight reel.

Bears quarterback Mike Glennon managed to shake off last week's disappointing performance in a loss to the Broncos by completing 13 of 18 passes for 89 yards and a touchdown.

With Mike Glennon struggling under center for the Bears now, it'll be interesting to see if Trubisky can keep up the pace he set in the first week of the preseason against a warmed up Cardinals defense.

Arizona's running backs had little room to move (26 yards on 16 carries), and the Cards' quarterbacks often had little time to throw.

There's no chance this play would have occurred in the regular season, because there's no chance the Cardinals will allow kicker Phil Dawson to attempt a 63-yard field goal in the regular season. The next play, he completed his first pass 7 yards to Tanner Gentry.
