Worldclass Forward To Sign For Manchester United This Week

Manchester United is expected to offer a new contract to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Having ruptured knee ligaments in the Europa League meeting with Anderlecht last April, it was confirmed at the end of the season that the 35-year-old would be released by the club when his contract expired on July 1.

Manchester United will sign a player in late August after all, but the Red Devils are very much familiar with this one.

The new contract will be announced earlier than anticipated due to the former Sweden international's quick recovery. Players' careers have been ended by similar injuries, particularly players of the striker's age.

The striker is now a free-agent after his contract at Old Trafford expired earlier in the summer.

Eric Bailly, Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial scored the goals for the visitors to the Liberty Stadium, with the final three strikes coming in the last 10 minutes.

In the video posted on his Instagram, the Manchester United striker did a 360-degree spin and landed a forceful kick with his right leg before spinning and striking with his left foot.

Ibrahimovic agreed to terms with United in June of 2016, leaving French side Paris Saint-Germain.

Mourinho is understood to have been hugely keen on re-signing the serial victor, whose influence in the dressing room was just as important as his goals last season, and it looks like the Portuguese coach could get his wish.

As with his time at PSG, Ibrahimović has played a role in improving the mentality of the players surrounding him. Ibrahimovic was an absolute revelation last season and his winning mentality could prove to be pivotal to see Mourinho's men get over the line this season.
