Selena Gomez and Francia Raisa are "like sisters"

Selena Gomez and Francia Raisa are

Selena revealed in a heartfelt Instagram post she needed the transplant due to her Lupus, a chronic condition that can damage any part of the body.

But now, it appears the 25-year-old and her Canadian singer beau have recruited a third and fluffy member to join their adorable little "family".

"When it comes to this whole world of fashion-that's what I'm going to call it-I think it's become this collaborative thing where streetwear and fashion blend into one", she continued. "For all those moments of not knowing if we were going up or going down, I can always come back to this picture and know we can always make it back up".

"There aren't words to describe how I can possibly thank my attractive friend, Francia Raisa".

"There aren't words to describe how I can possibly thank my attractive friend Francia Raisa", Gomez captioned a photo of her and Raisa holding hands in side-by-side hospital beds. "Mama Bear was in high gear".

But it was back to business for Selena Gomez on Monday as she was unveiled as the brand new face of Puma. "She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me".

Virginia Almendarez, Francia's mum, also opened up about the experience, speaking to Al Rojo Vivo after the announcement, saying her daughter and Selena are closer than ever. "We survived from all the love, prayers and God".

We were surprised last week when Selena Gomez revealed that the reason she had been staying out of the spotlight over the summer was a recent kidney transplant surgery in her ongoing battle with lupus. "All I could do was pray for both of them [and] Francia's handsome family", she wrote.

The insider shared: "Francia told a few people in her inner circle that she was donating one of her kidneys, but no one knew who it was for".
