4 injured as plane crash-lands in Istanbul airport

September 22: A small private jet, carrying five people onboard, ran off a runway at Istanbul's Ataturk International Airport and caught fire on Thursday.

Airport remains closed until investigation complete.

The jet was trying to leave Ataturk Airport on its way to Cyprus when it reportedly fell from the sky. All flights have been canceled, local outlets have reported. "The tire exploded during the landing attempt", Airlive.net reported.

As per media report, a small plane with four people on board crashed while making an emergency landing at Ataturk International Airport Pilate was killed and three other injured in the incident.

Police said the jet's two pilots, cabin crew members and several passengers suffered minor injuries in the accident.

Firefighters were mobilized to extinguish the fire, Anadolu reported.

The jet burst fires after crashing down, causing flights delays at the airport, Anadolu said.
