Banihal attack: J&K Police arrests 2 terrorists, recover arms

One forces personnel was killed and another injured in Banihal. He said that manhunt has been launched to arrest the third accomplice, who is at large.

A police official told Rising Kashmir that, "The two militants have been identified as Gazanfer and Arif".

Including an AK 47 assault rifle and an Insas rifle, two service rifles were recovered from their possession which had been snatched from security men during the Wednesday attack.

Banihal/Jammu: Two militants involved in the deadly terror attack on the SSB party in Banihal belt of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday have been arrested, the police said today.

Police had earlier dubbed the incident as a case of "fratricide". They came close to the SSB jawans when they were standing outside their camp, fired bullet on them from close range and escaped with their weapons.

Both were booked from Banihal area in Ramban district, says media reports.

Sources had said there was suspicion that the firing could have been a fratricidal shooting incident. "The terrorists have been handed over to the police and hunt for Aquib is presently on", the Indian Army said.
