Senior journalist KJ Singh, his mother found dead in Mohali, cops suspect murder.
Alam Vijay Singh said, "There were injury marks on their necks".
The incident was reported at around 1 pm when a visitor entered the house after he did not get any response.
According to the police, Singh was found with his throat slit while his mother is believed to have been strangled.
Singh, who was in his sixties, was a former news editor with The Indian Express and had retired as the Chief News Editor of The Tribune.
The report also says that his house was ransacked and several valuables, including Singh's vehicle, are missing.
Police said that Singh's mother, Gurcharan Kaur, 89, was strangulated. Last week, a Tripura-based journalist Shantanu Bhowmick was killed while he was reporting a clash between Indigenous People's Front of Tripura and the Rajaer Upajati Ganamukti Parishad.
"Just heard senior journalist KJ Singh has been murdered along with his mother.Condemn this killing and urge authorities to nab culprits", he tweeted.
Talking about the unfortunate incident, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal said. Urge police to nab perpetrators imm. The incidence has sent shock waves in media circles.
As per the reports, the two were allegedly murdered.
