The same website claimed Joseph Pleasant, a spokesman for Nashville Fire Department, said six to eight people were injured and are being transported to a local medical centre.

Nashville police received calls about a shooting at Burnette Chapel Church of Christ in Antioch just after 11 a.m., officials told Fox News.

At least seven people were shot at the church, the Metro Nashville Fire Department said on Twitter. The majority are older adults.

At least six people were injured when shots were fired at a Tennessee Church on Sunday.

The fire department later tweeted that the shooter was "among the wounded".
