Rahul Gandhi 'thanks' Sushma Swaraj for recognising Congress legacy

Sushma Swaraj, the external affairs minister in the Narendra Modi government, told the UN General Assembly last week that demonetisation was a "courageous decision", taken "to challenge one of the by-products of corruption, the black money that disappeared from circulation". The Uttar Pradesh Minister for Science and Technology was talking to the media after concluding a three-day fair organised by the district administration to celebrate the birth anniversary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay.

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had attacked the economy of the country.

After his arrival at the Mithapur airstrip near here, Gandhi went straight to the famous Dwarkadhish temple to offer prayers. The Congress Spokesperson said Ms Swaraj's gave a befitting answer to "those who ask what happened in the last 70 years. In a tweet, he said, "Befitting reply to those who ask what happened in last 70 years".

He further added that "every day 30000 youth search for a job and the government provides jobs to only 400 youths".

After Saurashtra, Gandhi will campaign in the rest of the Gujarat, PTI reported. He is also scheduled to meet local milk producers as well as cooperative leaders. On September 26, he will cover towns such as Dhrol and Tankara by road before reaching Rajkot, Gohil said.

Initiating the Congress campaign in the Saurashtra region for the upcoming Gujarat Assembly polls, party vice-president Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in his speech in Dwarka.
