Purdue responds to Jim Harbaugh's complaints about Boilermakers' locker room

Purdue's visiting locker rooms do not have air conditioning, and temperatures outside were in the 90s. Mentions there's an effort in Big Ten of gamesmanship that's unsportsmanlike.

"I've shared that with our athletic director and the commissioner should handle that", Meyer said. The locker room was so warm that the MI players had to go sit in the air-conditioned bus to escape the heat. "There needs to be a way to X-ray a player at the stadium". "You have to do open the doors to get some kind of ventilation going in a very small area. I think that's a pattern in the Big Ten".

The Michigan football team came out of West Lafayette this weekend with a win over Purdue, but that doesn't mean Jim Harbaugh was pleased with the overall experience.

The locker room and visiting team press-conference area is the equivalent of a big utility shed, from the outside it even looks like one.

"Gamesmanship should cease at the line of health and safety of the players", Harbaugh said of Purdue. People are walking by and watching you dress.

Harbaugh has been vocal about preferring to play afternoon games, but it appears he'll have to set that aside for at least a week. The number of urinals or bathrooms for the players and staff, I think there were two. "There was not even a private door around it".

"I wish I had taken a picture of the actual table that is given to the visitors to put the players on when they're injured", Harbaugh said.

Harbaugh added that one player needed a brace and it could not be provided at the facility he was taken to.

The hit warranted no flag on the play, to which Harbaugh was surprised.

Harbaugh said he hopes his program can help spearhead an initiative to make sure that Big Ten teams are doing a better job of taking care of their guests.?Harbaugh and MI athletic director Warde Manuel discussed what upgrades their stadium needed this weekend to try to make sure MI could "lead the way" in those efforts. "This needs to be addressed by the commissioner". It was ripped. It's just not good. Speight had to go somewhere else to get X-rays because Purdue didn't have facility for that. And he agreed the Big Ten needs some locker room reform.

The game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET and Harbaugh's Wolverines will look to continue their march to the College Football Playoff.

Harbaugh for now is calling the injury to Speight of the "soft tissue" variety and while he declined to go into further detail, he did say that if MI had a game this upcoming weekend, Speight would not be playing.
