New school year begins in Iran

Video of the test launch aired on Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) on Friday.

The two defense ministers are expected to discuss the cooperation between Russian Federation and Israel, the continuing coordination of the two militaries over the war-torn country as well as the Iranian entrenchment in Syria and the transfer of advanced weapons to Hezbollah by Tehran through Damascus.

Under the 2015 deal, Iran agreed to limit its disputed nuclear program in return for the easing of economic sanctions.

Previous Iranian missile launches have triggered United States sanctions and accusations that they violate the spirit of the 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and major powers.

U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted Saturday, "Iran just test-fired a Ballistic Missile capable of reaching Israel".

"Iran has released footage of the successful test-launch of its new ballistic missile, Khorramshahr, a few hours after it was unveiled during a military parade in the capital city of Tehran", Press TV said. Iran, which fought a brutal war with neighbouring Iraq in the 1980s, sees missiles as a legitimate and vital part of its defence - particularly as regional rivals Saudi Arabia and Israel import huge amounts of military hardware from the West.

On 22nd September, 2017, President of Iran, Hassan Rouhani announced that Iran is paving its path to increase the military power "as a deterrent". They are also working with North Korea. If Mr. Trump refused the certification of Iran's compliance, the Congress will take 60 days to review and impose the sanctions on Iran again.

"But it is no good talking about this if the United States is not honoring the nuclear agreement", he said.

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has said that the agreement must be changed or the United States could not stick with it. Iran has said its nuclear accord cannot be renegotiated. Trump has repeatedly hinted that he wants to ditch the agreement, most recently in his speech before the United Nations General Assembly last week.

America and its citizens are in danger since President Clinton and Obama both allowed North Korea and Iran to develop nuclear weapons.

"The missile has become smaller in size (compared to other Iranian ballistic missiles) and more tactical, and it will be operational in the near future", Hajizadeh told reporters on Friday.

"The specification of this missile is that it can carry several warheads instead of one to hit several targets", he added.

On Sept. 3, Pyongyang claimed to have tested a hydrogen bomb which their state news agency described as "a multifunctional thermonuclear nuke with great destructive power which can be detonated even at high altitudes for [a] super-powerful EMP [electromagnetic pulse] attack".

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Thursday that the USA imposition of unilateral sanctions on Iran was "illegitimate and undermines the collective nature of global efforts".

Iran is also not conducting "any uranium enrichment or related research and development activities" at its Fordo nuclear plant, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) added, as cited by AFP.
