Antonio Conte Urges Alvaro Morata To Show Diego Costa Aggression

Costa is back with Atletico after Chelsea agreed to grant his wish to return, although the Spanish club's transfer ban means he will have a watching brief until January.

Chelsea remain three points behind leaders Manchester City, who they play at Stamford Bridge in what could be one of the season's formative games next Saturday.

"I remember very well last season when we struggled a lot to win and we also won at the end of the game".

"We are talking two players who are very strong, two really good players, two number nines who are very strong".

Morata was also on target in Chelsea's last away game in a 2-1 success against Leicester.

Different players may occupy the centre-forward position for Chelsea over the course of a season but the role remains the same Antonio Conte has explained, prior to the latest challenge for the forward line of breaking down the Stoke defence in Saturday afternoon's match.

Chelsea forward Pedro will return to Antonio Conte's squad for the trip to Stoke on Saturday while Tiemoue Bakayoko is available despite being involved in a vehicle accident on Thursday.

"I think previous year they were quite good at taking things up to a line and not crossing it, and maybe they have just got that balance a little bit wrong".

It left the 24-year-old in ideal shape ahead of Wednesday's trip to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, where Morata can expect a hostile reception after his long association with their city rivals.

Wilkins, who enjoyed two spells as an assistant manager at Chelsea, admits that his former club have done well to recoup £53m for Costa, who arrived in the summer of 2014 for £32m, but is sad to see the two-time Premier League victor leave west London. As a friend I will miss Diego, and a player, but Alvaro is doing his job so we are happy.

A quiet game against Arsenal in the 0-0 draw last weekend led to suggestions that Morata lacked the physical presence required for the weekly Premier League combat.

"It was a good change and I am pleased with the new chant", Conte said.

Diego Costa insists he was "very happy" at Chelsea but is thrilled to be coming "home" to play for Atletico Madrid.

"Now his injury has been overcome". Morata is 24 years old so there is the possibility to work with him for 10 years.
