Rose McGowan slams Ben Affleck for Harvey Weinstein statement

Rose McGowan put Ben Affleck on blast after the actor released a statement claiming he was unaware of Harvey Weinstein's sexual misconduct with women, claiming that she personally told the Argo star she was sexually harassed by the studio exec when they were working on a movie together.

After someone on Twitter alleged that Affleck had groped "TRL" host Hilarie Burton in 2003 but "everyone forgot", Burton quickly tweeted: "I didn't forget".

"Girls. I'm so impressed with you courageous ones", Burton, who is expecting her second child with The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan, wrote in the tweet.

Burton followed up their exchange with a video clip from MTV TRL Uncensored with the caption, "Girls". I TOLD HIM TO STOP DOING THAT' you said that to my face. On Twitter, she explains that "I had to laugh back then so I wouldn't cry". In a separate clip, Affleck asks her: "How old are you - 19?"

The actress, who is now starring on Fox's Lethal Weapon reboot and expecting her second child with The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan, then shared a video of her discussing the moment in a video that aired TRL outtakes. Instead, there is one soundbite at the:40 mark where Hilarie says, "And he comes over and tweaks me left boob" in what appears to be a taped interview for MTV.

"The additional allegations of assault that I read this morning made me sick". McGowan and Ben Affleck had co-starred in the 1998 film Phantoms.

Reps for Burton and Affleck did not immediately respond to HuffPost's request for comment.

When the fan replied to her about Affleck, telling her, "I'm so sorry that happened to you", Burton said, "Seriously, thank you for that". As Weinstein's accusers continue to step forward, celebrities tweeted their disgust with his behavior and support of the women affected - but not all celebrities, particularly men, are getting off with just an apology.
