"As we all know, when you qualify for World Cup, FIFA releases a significant amount of money to NFF and over the years the money has been squandered which is about $10 billion".
Super Eagles Franco-German tactician Gernot Rohr, yesterday paid glowing tribute to all the players and officials of the Super Eagles following the team's qualification to play at next year's World Cup finals in Russian Federation.
Ezenwa said he had always wanted to play at the World Cup.
"Beating Zambia 1-0 to qualify for the World Cup is really fulfilling".
"I think the country should be looking at perhaps the quarter-finals", added the former midfielder, who won over 40 caps for Nigeria before bowing out at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations.
"It shows that it really pays to work hard and I urge the younger ones to toe the line of hard work and dedication".
The Super Eagles have reached the second round at three World Cups - 1994, 1998 and on their last appearance in Brazil three years ago.
The only loss was against South Africa's Bafana Bafana in Uyo, at the start of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in June 2017.
Nigeria's Super Eagles on Saturday qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup after a 1-0 win over Zambia in oil rich city of Uyo, with an unassailable 6-point lead after five matches in Group B.
Meanwhile, Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has said he is happy working with the Eagles.
"I am very excited to be working with this team: a blend of the experienced and the young and ambitious ones".
"I believe Russian Federation 2018 will be a good adventure for us all", the German, who previously coached Burkina Faso said.
"At the beginning of the qualifying series, many people said we were going to be chased out".
