Sergio Aguero returns to Manchester City training following vehicle crash

Sergio Aguero, on his way back from a gig performed by Colombian singer Maluma, was in the back of a taxi in Amsterdam as the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed - fracturing the Argentine's ribs.

Sergio Aguero is hopeful of being available for Manchester City's home game with Stoke City on Saturday in what would be a surprise early return from the rib injury the striker suffered in a auto crash less than two weeks ago.

Lamela has not played for Tottenham for nearly a year because of hip problems and he even spent time at his former club Roma as he attempted to overcome his injuries before finally undergoing surgery.

"Though it was a light session with a City physio, the City star is expected to gradually build up his fitness in the coming days as he edges towards a first-team return".

Aguero is one goal shy of Eric Brook's all-time City record of 177 goals.

Aguero has scored six goals and set up a further three in his six Premier League appearances this season for Pep Guardiola's side, who sit top of the table with a goal difference advantage over Manchester United.

Fabian Delph has also returned to City training after being forced to withdraw from England's squad for their World Cup qualifiers.
