Police were checking on registered sex offenders in the area who might be connected to Sherin's disappearance, but noted there was no evidence she had been kidnapped.
The lawyer for the mother of the 3-year-old Indian American girl Sherin Mathews who has been missing since Saturday after it was reported that she was sent outside as punishment, said on Wednesday that she is "distraught" but still hopeful her daughter will be found, adding that "all she wants is for her daughter to be returned".
Police officers and Federal Bureau of Investigation agents were at the home on Wednesday, and served a search warrant to look for evidence.
Wesley Mathews, the girl's father, was arrested on child endangerment charges after he reported her missing Saturday. He then went out to search for her on his own but went back home when he couldn't find her, said Richardson Police Sgt. Kevin Perlich. Sherin's mother, Sini Mathews, has not been charged with any crime.
Police issued an Amber Alert Saturday afternoon but canceled it Monday after no significant leads turned up in the case.
Police say the girl's father, 37-year-old Wesley Mathews, told detectives that he told Sherin to stand by a tree about 100 feet from the family's home because she would not drink her milk.
The family called police five hours later to report her missing.
He has been required to wear an electronic monitoring device and surrender his passport as part of his bond conditions.
The parents of a missing Texas girl have stopped cooperating with police, according to Fox News. "Why was the last sighting at 3 o'clock and the parents not call us until after 8 am, that's the question we want answered as well", Perlich was quoted as saying by Dallas Morning News. Police said, however, that there have been no indications Williams might have been harmed by the coyotes.
"Right now, we're going through all that", Perlich explained. Kent Starr is representing the young girl's mother.
Police said the toddler has "developmental issues and has limited verbal communication skills".
The police are now on the look out for any possible video footage that might have captured the movement of the vehicle.
Sherin is described as 3-feet tall and 22 pounds with black hair.
Sherin, an adopted child from India, would wake up in the middle of the night, Mathews said.
