While both Hema Malini and Dharmendra rarely open up about their personal relationship and marriage, the Sita Aur Gita actor has spoken about how she fell in love with the macho Veeru of Sholay in her new authorised biography.
The actor said that with extreme success, she "overnight, (I) had wings to fly" and that is when relationships go through testing times.
At the event, when Hemaji, who has been the dream girl for millions of people was asked who would she pick for the tag of Dream Girl in today's times. The book will narrate her life experiences in a chronological order and hopefully, clear out the misleading information that has been making rounds about the actress for years. He roped in five media students - - Christopher Noel D'Souza, Riona Mariette Gomes, Iqra Laique, Vadin Gear and Savio Gerhert - from Don Bosco Mumbai, to work on this project.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has penned the foreword for the book, while the afterword is by Ramesh Sippy, who directed her in the iconic role of Basanti in "Sholay".
Reportedly, on the special occasion, the first full-length biography of the veteran actress, also a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Parliamentarian, will be launched.
"Hema is like my younger sister". She was quoted saying, "I haven't gone to college. It is the most uncomfortable and hard place to be in and I have stayed there for a long time", she added. I was surprised to hear her voice.
