Cricketer and cancer-survivor Yuvraj Singh was recently dragged into controversy when his sister-in-law, former Bigg Boss contestant Akanksha Sharma named him in a domestic violence suit agaist her husband Zoravar Singh (Yuvraj's brother) and their mother Shabnam Singh. Akanksha has been living separately since.
Allegedly, the case was filed in Gurugram, with a court issuing a notice to Yuvraj and his family to respond by October 21. It also means mental and financial torture, which can be attributed to Yuvraj.
He said that Akanksha had filed a petition before the Supreme Court seeking transfer of the case and the matter was worked out between both parties and Zorawar filed a petition for granting divorce by mutual consent.
It was a year ago on Diwali that Akanksha was evicted from the Bigg Boss house.
Yuvraj Singh, dearly called as the sixer-man is nowadays facing it hard to bag a place in Team India. "It won't stand judicial scrutiny", he told TOI, adding that a divorce case is also under progress.
Akanksha was last seen in the 10th season of the famous reality show "Bigg Boss". In her words, "When Yuvraj and Zoravar's mother were pressurizing Akanksha to have a baby, Yuvraj too had joined in to do the same". This Diwali she has slapped the Singhs with a domestic violence case.
"There are certain misrepresentations being made in social media that a criminal complaint or an FIR has been registered against my clients on the basis of false and baseless allegations". The court has given the Singh family time till that date to file its response to the complaint. She had left her matrimonial house admittedly in September 2015 and has chosen to file this petition in the end of 2017.
Yuvraj's younger brother Zorawar had married Gurgaon girl Akanksha Sharma in 2014. However, she categorically stated that she had nothing against Yuvraj Singh and that he was very nice to her.
