Oliver dedicated a significant portion of his show on Sunday to discussing the Trump presidency. He went on to show a transcript of a Trump speech about Iran as a disembodied voice expressionlessly read the text.
Taking a trip down a Trump-filled memory lane, Oliver commented on various moments throughout the year that led to controversy for the president, including Trump telling the French president's wife that she was in good shape and shoving the president of Montenegro at a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation event.
The host also addressed the president's recent tweet, revealing that he would never refer to Kim Jong-Un as "short and fat" for he hopes someday they can be friends.
"It is staggering how incoherent he is", says Oliver after reading a transcript.
Oliver noted that the notion that both Trump and other elected officials are resorting to these harmful tactics means it is more important than ever to be able to identify them, so the public can hold elected officials accountable for their actions.
Worse is how Trump's behavior is echoed, Oliver said, showing a clip of Rep. Paul Gosar, an Arizona Republican, fleeing a reporter while chanting "Fake news, fake news".
Okay, the ex-presidents were wax. Even with the freaky scenario, Hanks continues talking, stating that it "isn't a one-man job" to the figure. Nevertheless, Tom Hanks is the inspirational figure we only wish could lead all of our past presidents on a world-saving mission. Then, four other wax statues of former Presidents - Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and William Henry Harrison - appear on the set.
