The Talk: Eve fills Aisha Tyler's vacated seat

Grammy Award-winning Ruff Ryder Eve Jeffers Cooper (aka Eve) has officially been named Aisha Tyler's successor on CBS's The Talk.

Since Tyler's exit, "The Talk" has featured many guest co-hosts during its current eighth season. Eve joins Julie Chen, Sharon Osbourne, Sara Gilbert, and Sheryl Underwood at the co-hosts table.

According to the Associated Press, EVP Daytime Programs at CBS Entertainment, Angelica McDaniel called Eve an "accomplished and dynamic performer, musician, wife and stepmother" who will add "a new layer to the show as we continue to evolve season to season". Eve also acted in the "Barbershop" feature film franchise as well as starring in her own self-titled sitcom for the defunct UPN in 2003-06.

It was after the R&B star cohosted for a week and impressed viewers, the network, and the cast that execs knew she was the right fit for the vacant seat. "I'm kind of quiet on social media, so this is a fun way for me to be expressive and show people who I am right now". "I'm just in a place in my life where I was looking for a platform to express myself", she told Variety.

"I've watched the show and the one thing that I liked about it is that all the women are all genuine", she says.

Eve said when she was first approached about the new gig, she thought it was ideal but admitted that she had to think about it. "I'm always interested in unique and fun parts", Eve reveals.

"I've already started recording". This opportunity came and it's something new, something exciting.
