The nerve-wracking countdown of over 25 hours has started for the launch of the heaviest ever rocket and satellite combo from home soil. For now, the rocket will carry a satellite. The three-stage rocket is powered by two solid strap-on motors at the bottom, a liquid propellant core stage and the cryogenic upper stage. India is all set to launch the landmark heavy-lift rocket GSLV MkIII from Sriharikota at 5:28 PM, situated around 120 KM from Chennai .
