Economy shrank 0.3 per cent in October, Statistics Canada says

Output in the manufacturing sector fell by 2.0 per cent, the largest decline since December 2013, on a lower volume of exports. CIBC economist Nick Exarhos said Canada has been suffering a loss of manufacturing capacity since the 2008-09 global recession and "anemic" trade volumes recently that make it hard to benefit from favourable exchange rates.
