Surveillance footage showed the young woman getting into a black auto minutes after stepping off of a bus while on her way to sign a lease for an apartment in the Champaign-Urbana area of east central IL. The FBI on Tuesday said the agency had located the vehicle that she was last seen getting into. Urbana-Champaign campus Chancellor Robert Jones announced her death to the campus with "great sorrow".

The Trump administration hardened its approach to China on Thursday, blacklisting a small Chinese bank over dealings with North Korea while approving more than a billion dollars in military sales to Taiwan. The president was to meet for the first time Thursday with South Korea's new leader, President Moon Jae-in, who has long advocated outreach to North Korea.
