It crashed after hitting a high-voltage transmission line, officials said. Turkey's chief of staff, General Hulusi Akar, travelled to the region to carry out an inspection, Anadolu said. Defence minister Fikri Isik and other government ministers immediately left the capital, Ankara, for Sirnak, DHA reported. Turkish military forces are embroiled in conflict with Kurdish PKK militants who are based out of Sirnak's mountain ranges.
