The benchmark BSE Sensex closed 355 points or 1.13 percent higher at 31,715.64, crossing the 31,700 mark for the first time ever. Major gainers were Bharti Airtel , TCS , Lupin , Sun Pharma and Wipro , surging by up to 3.73%. Tata Motors too rose 2.67 percent to Rs 448 level. DPO martyred, 11 injured in Chaman blast

A police officer was killed and several others injured in a blast at Bogra Road in Chaman, Balochistan , on Monday. As per initial reports, 10-15 people including police personnel have also been injured in the incident. Assistant Commissioner of Chaman confirmed that the blast was of suicide nature and District Police Officer Sajid Khan was the target. Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zahri and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan condemned the attack.
